Just got our first proof from Gold Wake Press (basically, the PDF laid out, where we edit and look for stuff we might need to fix). We’re waiting on the artwork (same guy that did Wolves—my little brother Jordan). The more I read it (Chas has said this too) the more I like it. It helps that I wrote it with someone, so there’s a lot of admire in his poetry. I’m thinking about doing a short little midwest tour again, but we’ll see what I can manage. Em’s going back to work and the only time she can work is when I’m not—Fri, Sat, Sun. Those would be the days that I would go read. But we’ll see. I’m trying to put out feelers to see if anyone wants me to come visit their school, read, and hang out in the classroom for discussions or whatever, but I’m not sure that I’ve made it to that level yet (except at Western).

And school starts on Tuesday. I’m fucking pumped. Can’t wait. But it will be a busy year. I didn’t think I would have a chance to post on here, but alas, I’m waiting for my Masala Tofu to cool off (YES I MADE IT), so I thought, why not? Anyway, things are good, I haven’t been writing most of July and August (except for the occasional poem), but I’ve started again more or less, and it will kick into high gear as the semester revs. Though, I’m itching to finish this screenplay I’ve been tinkering with for a few months about a band/organ harvesters/unwanted fame, but I got poems to focus on, jobs to apply for, and a family to be with. But, it’s possible: DIY is basically done. I haven’t written the end (I think I might’ve mentioned that before) yet. Right now it’s just organizing, cutting, and revising. I don’t foresee a lot of new material, it’s already over 100 pages. Yikes. I have to cut like 40 pages to meet the MFA requirements. I think my thesis will be the bare-bones, poems only version, whereas the book will be more along the lines of The Collected Works of Billy the Kid and other projects in that vein.
Keep your eyes peeled I got some publications brewing and other things.
